Urgent needs

At the Starkid School, we do everything we can to support children from low-income backgrounds. But we can't do this alone, we need support.

 

School kitchen

We really need this facility to provide hot meals for all students.

Boys dormitory

The boys are currently sleeping in their classrooms as we don't have enough space. The room is actually intended for the fourth grade, which now has to study in the corridor.

Stationery

Many of our old books are now very wornout or outdated. We urgently need new, updated materials to provide students with a better learning environment.

Water distribution from our borehole

Thanks to “ADM Cares”, we already have a borehole. Now we need to channel the water into our buildings to ensure a better supply.

Internet

Thanks to the “Rotary Club Schleswig” we have a new computer lab, but it still needs an internet connection, which will use solar energy to save on costs, to be fully usable.

Solar energy

Electricity is not affordable for us, so we would like to switch to solar energy as it would be much cheaper in the long term.

Food & Nutrition Support

To keep our children healthy and energized for learning, we rely on generous donations of essential food items like cereals (maize, rice, beans), groceries, fresh vegetables, and cooking oil. These help us prepare daily nutritious meals that are often the only reliable source of food for some of our children.

Staff Wages

As many children cannot afford the school fees, it is not possible to pay the staff a good salary as the number of pupils is low.

Hygiene & Personal Care

Cleanliness and dignity are vital for every child’s well-being. We welcome contributions of laundry and cleaning detergents, toiletries (soap, toothpaste, sanitary items), and body oil to ensure proper hygiene. Donations of clothes, school uniforms, and shoes (both casual and school) help provide warmth, comfort, and confidence to our growing children.
